A few words about coconut fiber

Coconut fiber is obtained from the packaging of unripe coconut palm fruits, i.e. coconuts. It is therefore a 100% natural and degradable material, and also naturally antibacterial.

In order to obtain high-quality and long fibres, which reach a length of up to 30 cm, the rind of the fruit is soaked in salty sea water for several months, which loosens the fiber bundles from the pectin coating. These bundles are then spun into individual fibers that are used in the textile and upholstery industry.

A characteristic feature of coconut fiber is its roughness, it is significantly coarser than cotton fiber. Although the fiber is hollow (contains about 65% air), it is the strongest of all cellulose fibers and very resistant to mechanical stress.

It is used not only for the production of brushes, but also for non-textile products such as fillings for upholstery of seats and furniture or insulation. It is also processed into yarn for the production of fabrics, ropes, ropes or knotted carpets.
