Description

I think makeup is a great thing. It works wonders with the skin, gives confidence on days when we need to feel a little better in our own skin and helps when we just want to please ourselves and others. But it should be made only from healthy ingredients, friendly to the natural environment and without unnecessary ingredients.

Well, that's exactly what our homemade mineral makeup is like!

Why mineral make-up?

It covers irritation and redness of the skin, hides small pimples and imperfections, copes with the shine and oiliness of the skin and contains substances that protect the skin from sunlight. Because it is light, breathable and does not burden the skin at all, it is great for everyday wear. And it looks completely natural too! It doesn't make a mask and you can't feel it on the skin. In addition, it can be beautifully layered and thereby increase its coverage. Mineral make-up is simply absolutely brilliant in every way. But also really expensive in drugstores and perfumeries...

And that's why we're going to make our own today! Easily and at a fraction of the cost.

In addition, with basic make-up ingredients, you can also create blush , lipstick , sun creams , anti-acne ointment and many other home decorative cosmetics . This is called frugality and economy! :))

Difficult to find the right shade? No longer!

Finding the right shade of makeup can be a chore. In addition, it is often necessary to have several different bottles at home, because as the weather changes, so does the color of our face. With homemade mineral makeup, this will no longer bother you. You can mix the perfect shade yourself, which fits your skin exactly, and you can adjust it very easily according to the need and the season so that it always suits you.

You can lighten, darken, and even change its undertone or influence its brightening ability within a minute.

First-class composition

Although you won't find preservatives, silicones and waxes, irritating fragrances or pore-clogging oils in most high-quality mineral make-up, they usually contain parabens, mineral oils, synthetic dyes and other substances that can cause mischief on the skin.

We avoid this with homemade mineral makeup. We only need a few natural ingredients, no chemicals or unnecessary fillers to make the perfect homemade mineral makeup.

What is needed for mineral makeup?

Zinc oxide

A white powder that provides coverage and matting in make-up. The more you add to your make-up, the higher the coverage will be. It does not irritate the skin and does not cause allergic reactions, so it is suitable even for the most sensitive skin. In addition, zinc oxide provides the skin with protection from sunlight, making the make-up a great partner for summer. And you can use it, for example, in zinc ointment.

Titanium dioxide

A naturally occurring mineral that is most often used as a white pigment in cosmetics. It will provide us with additional coverage in the recipe, and because it also refracts light very well and absorbs UV radiation, it will increase protection against the sun even more.

Regards Mica

Silky fine powder, thanks to which the make-up will work well. In addition, it mattifies, does not clog pores and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Colored oxides

We finally get to the colorants, thanks to which we can create the best shade of our makeup. When working with colored oxides, you will quickly find out how intensely it colors. You really need very few of them. You can also use them in other decorative cosmetics or win with them when making homemade soaps . Yellow, brown and red are absolutely enough for make-up.

These ingredients will be enough for a great mineral make-up, but we recommend adding more:

White clay - kaolin

Use it, especially if you have oily skin or irritated and sensitive skin. It has a beneficial effect on the skin and, thanks to its high mineral content, nourishes it wonderfully.

Allantoin

Reach for it again if you have extremely dry skin. It helps to hydrate the skin and soften it.

Essential oils

Essential oils not only add a beautiful scent to our make-up, but also provide the skin with the necessary care. Lavender is suitable for sensitive skin, as it soothes beautifully, tea tree for problematic skin, makes it easier to fight pimples and is antibacterial.

Broccoli oil

It contains high amounts of vitamin C and vitamins A and K, along with iron, potassium and calcium. Perfect for the skin!

How to do it?

Prepare:

1 to 2 teaspoons of Sericite Mica (or more - depending on how brightening you want your makeup to be)

6 teaspoons of titanium dioxide

4 teaspoons of zinc oxide

1 teaspoon of kaolin for oilier skin or allantoin for dry skin

1 and a half to 2 teaspoons of yellow oxide

1/3 teaspoon of brown oxide

A pinch of red oxide

5 drops of essential oil or vitamin E (optional)

1/4 tsp broccoli oil or jojoba oil (optional)

And various packaging for cosmetics and a mixer, mortar , strainer or measuring spoon will also come in handy, which will make the work easier, but you can easily make makeup even without equipment.

Using a blender, mortar or pestle, mix the first four ingredients. Since the oxides really color intensely, add half of the colored oxides to the mixture first and mix well again. Use a blender, a mortar and pestle, push the mixture through a sieve or simply pour everything into a sealable glass and shake until everything is nicely and evenly colored. Check the color and adjust everything as you need by combining color oxides. Keep an eye on the make-up color ideally in daylight. When you are satisfied with the shade of the makeup, you can optionally add essential oil, broccoli or jojoba oil and vitamin E and mix well again. Then just transfer the make-up into a suitable container and that's it!

Color mixing

There is too much powder

- dark? Add the titanium dioxide.

- bright? Add brown oxide.

- yellow? Add red oxide.

- pink? Add yellow oxide.

If you want the makeup to cover more, add a little zinc oxide.

Final tips

For application, we recommend a kabuki or thick cosmetic brush, which will work the make-up perfectly into the skin.

You can make blush or powder just as easily. Start the same, sericite with mica, titanium dioxide and zinc. Add more red oxide for blush, brown and yellow for bronzer. If you want to brighten or sparkle your face, add mica powder according to your choice and imagination. The possibilities are endless!

If you prefer liquid products, simply mix mineral makeup with your favorite skin cream. You will get a great soft covering cream perfect for summer. Or try our eco-friendly BB cream .

If you want a less covering setting powder for your makeup, mix a bit of manufactured mineral makeup with sericite mica .

So are you mixing yet? :)
