Description

Characteristics

  • Kala Namak black Indian salt finely ground
  • Name: Roasted rock salt.
  • Black salt is mined from the volcanic lakes of Pakistan and India, and its taste and smell can put off those who come into contact with it for the first time, as it resembles hard-boiled eggs. After heat treatment, however, it acquires an earthy aroma.
  • Kala Namak is called black salt in Czech, but it is far from black. This exotic seasoning is a rich mixture of minerals with a high iron content and other elements that give the salt a rather dark red and gray color.

Use

  • It is a specialty of Indian cuisine that cannot simply be used instead of classic salt.
  • Its smell can be unpleasant at first, but it goes well with Indian dishes, and vegans will appreciate the eggy flavor it adds to vegan dishes.
  • Kala Namak is also very interesting from the point of view of Ayurveda. According to Ayurvedic doctors, Kala Namak is the most beneficial form of salt because, unlike ordinary salt, it does not increase the sodium content in the blood. This is why these scholars recommend black salt to people who have high blood pressure or those who have a low-salt diet.
  • Without black salt, the locals could not imagine preparing such delicacies as chaats, chutney, or raitas.
  • And the famous chaat masala spice? So know that it wouldn't be possible without Kala Namak. Indians also put this salt on fruit, so you can try salting, for example, a banana or an apple a little in our conditions, and you will be pleasantly surprised by the interesting taste.

Storage

  • Store in a dry place.

Ingredients

  • Chemical analyzes have shown that Kala Namak contains a wide range of minerals and trace elements. The most prevalent are sodium chloride, magnesium chloride, sodium sulfate, calcium chloride and iron.
