Konjac sponge - bamboo charcoal

One of the secrets of the alabaster skin of Japanese women - a konjac sponge for cleansing the skin. You don't need anything except clean water for it. Cleanses, gently removes old skin, nourishes. The konjac mushroom has a neutral pH, which is ideal for our skin, and is full of minerals and antioxidants.

Everything you wanted to know about the production and effect of konjac sponges and were afraid to ask

Konyak or Zmijovec or Aaron's rod in Czech. You can find it in Asia, in tropical rainforests, but also in Africa and South America. They treat it differently everywhere - somewhere it is just an ornamental flower, somewhere the tubers are eaten (they are similar to potatoes), in Japan it is dried and made into noodles, and konjac sponges used for nurturing and skin care. Cognac and its products are so natural that they couldn't be more natural, and they are also 100% biodegradable.

In the case of Konga, production takes place in South Korea on the island of Jeju in a small factory where western working conditions are followed and all production is strictly manual, no machines anywhere.

Bamboo activated carbon?

It is made from bamboo, in Japan, and with a special technique - the temperature at which it is fired is lower than the usual 1000 °C, which is common for other coals. It is rich in active anions, balances the pH of the skin, cleans the pores, activates the skin and slows down its aging. It is highly absorbent - it binds impurities, prevents acne and deeply cleans pores (thus removing blackheads).

The sponge is therefore suitable: for oily and acne-prone skin, for use mainly on the face, for daily use.

Recommendations for use

• Before the first use, rinse it thoroughly and wring it out so that it absorbs as much water as possible. Alternatively, leave in warm water for 3-5 minutes.
• Massage your face with the sponge in circular motions - without soap or anything else. However, if you use it with cleansing milk or gel, it can also easily remove make-up.
• Rinse the sponge, don't wring it! Soak in warm water to soften before next use.
• After use and rinsing, hang it up to dry evenly. Use for a maximum of 3 months and then compost it.

How are sponges made at Kongy? It's quite a science.

• First of all, konjac flour is mixed with water (konjac flour is created by mixing the crushed root of the Konyak plant with flour).
• At the same time, the necessary forms are created. Konjac jelly is poured into sterile molds and waited until it matures.
• Then everything is covered in steam. This gives the sponges the right structure.
• The subsequent water bath will give them softness.
• And then they are packed one by one.
