Description

In the last article, in which we made a wonderful ointment for sore throats with lavender, calendula and chamomile, we promised you that we would mix more home-made miracle ointments, without which we cannot imagine the summer. So let's do it!

In short, this ointment is an absolute summer necessity, even if you're not exactly tanned. It soothes sun-kissed skin beautifully, provides it with the necessary moisture and relieves any irritation. And if you really get burned, it will quickly relieve you of the unpleasant heat and redness. Be sure to keep the ointment in the refrigerator, not only does it last longer, but the cold cream cools the skin pleasantly and relieves burnt or irritated skin much faster.

By the way, have you ever tried making homemade sun creams or oils? :)

Aloe vera

We can't pass up aloe vera, this succulent is really a big favorite of ours, because it has great abilities and almost unbelievable healing effects. Aloe vera gel offers us many excellent options for using it.

If you have an aloe vera plant at home, we probably don't need to explain at length about its amazing abilities. You have probably already convinced yourself several times that fresh juice from an aloe vera leaf is the best helper for burns from a hot plate or an iron. Aloe vera is just as good for irritated or sunburned skin, itchiness, eczema and rash. It will relieve the symptoms of allergies, help fight acne and relieve various fungal and inflammatory skin diseases.

But keep in mind that in order for aloe vera to show you what it can really do, the plant should be at least three or four years old. So if you don't want to wait quite a long time for your own piece to offer you its abilities, or if you don't understand much about growing plants, reach for aloe vera gel, which will serve you just as well as a living plant and will be useful in an abundance recipes. In addition, working with it is much more convenient than using live aloe vera, and products made from aloe vera gel last significantly longer.

Pure aloe vera gel is truly a universal and almost miraculous helper when it comes to treating the skin and the skin of the entire body. It immediately soothes the skin and strongly supports its regeneration. Therefore, it is excellent for treating irritated or sunburned skin. It significantly relieves very dry or sensitive skin, relieves itching, also prevents the formation of acne, and even deals with dark circles under the eyes. Because it increases the elasticity of the skin, turns it off, deeply hydrates and minimizes the formation of wrinkles, it is also suitable for the care of mature skin. Aloe vera gel can easily replace skin creams and expensive serums.

Take a look at aloe vera gel ESI, which is made from cold-pressed 100% aloe vera juice, is not tested on animals and contains no dyes or perfumes.

And now for the ointment.

What does it take?

For the production of 120 ml of ointment

- 6 spoons of calendula oil

- 6 spoons of aloe vera gel

- 2 tablespoons of virgin coconut oil

- 2 teaspoons of cocoa butter

- 2 teaspoons of shea butter

- 2 teaspoons of beeswax

- 30 drops of lavender essential oil

How to do it?

If you don't have calendula oil ready, we'll start by making this miracle first. (If you have one, skip this step.) :) In a water bath (place a heatproof glass bowl or mason jar in a pot of water and let it boil) heat about 8 tablespoons of olive oil and add about 4 tablespoons of calendula flower. Heat on a low heat for about half an hour (just two hours, the longer the better). Then put the oil aside and strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth so that no herbs remain in the oil. And it is done!

Then dissolve coconut oil, cocoa and shea butter and beeswax again in a water bath and add calendula oil. When everything is liquid, give the mixture a good stir and then set aside. Let it cool for a while and mix in the aloe vera gel and essential oils. Never add these ingredients to hot foundations, they may burn and lose their valuable abilities. Mix everything well again and pour the ointment into a 120 ml glass, jar or cup, for example this one.

Apply the ointment as needed on skin irritated by the sun, but also on burns caused by cooking or baking. The skin will calm down nicely and heal faster.

And speaking of aloe vera, also try the amazing aloe vera butter or one of the other eco-friendly recipes with this great plant. For example, a wonderful hair conditioner, a simple roll-on for pimples of all kinds, a wonderful eye care gel, a fresh summer deodorant or one of our homemade natural make-up removers.
