Characteristics

  • The main components of rice bran wax are aliphatic acids (wax acids) and higher alcohol esters.
  • Rice bran wax also contains unsaponifiable components such as free fatty acids (palmitic acid), squalene and phospholipids.
  • Melting point: 77-81 °C

Use and dosage

  • Add to the oil phase in the amount of 0.1 to 20% depending on the type of formulation.
  • A classic cream will require less than 1% wax while a lip balm will contain around 10%.
  • Solubility: in hot fats
  • Dosage 0.1 - 20%
