Description

Swollen, heavy or painful feet are not unusual in summer. Whether we literally come to them with a few errands around the hot city in the biggest steam or hiking trips and hikes, nothing caresses and refreshes them as well as our cooling butter. Put it on the shelf next to the cleansing oil with mint and eucalyptus , this duo will be indispensable in the summer!

Cool, refresh, smell

What does the balm contain to have such a beneficial effect on our legs? The right wind herbs are definitely a must! That is, the popular fresh eucalyptus, cooling mint and invigorating thyme . In addition to the fact that eucalyptus menthol pleasantly cools and soothes, it also has a calming effect on our soul, as it helps concentration and has an anti-depressant effect. Peppermint stimulates the mind and body, and its cooling effect is good for the skin, but also for our nose. Thyme, on the other hand, can boast exceptional strengthening effects and the ability to ward off fatigue, and you will certainly appreciate its wonderful herbal aroma.

So that the balm is the balm

What will give consistency to our product are of course the natural butters, the velvety soft almond butter with its excellent emollient properties, after which the rough and dry skin on the feet will be able to beat. We add the popular nourishing shea butter to the almond butter, which ensures creaminess and a pleasant richness. To the butter, we add nurturing jojoba oil, a golden wonder that will provide protection and moisture to the skin and, with regular use, increase its resistance.

And since butters naturally lubricate the skin, we also add French green clay to the balm, which reduces the greasy feeling, and also provides the skin with a supply of minerals and protection against bacteria and fungi.

Vitamin E is already a staple that cannot be missing in any fat-rich recipe. Vitamin E, as a strong antioxidant, prevents fats in cosmetics from rancidity, thereby extending the shelf life of the product. And it can do the same with our skin, protecting it from free radicals and limiting the signs of skin aging.

And now we will finally look at the whole recipe!

Softening cooling foot balm - mint + eucalyptus + thyme

What does it take?

we heat:

- 15 grams of almond butter

- 15 grams of shea butter

- 5 grams of French green clay

we cool:

- 20 grams of jojoba oil

- 0.25 grams (drop) of vitamin E

- 8 drops of peppermint essential oil

- 8 drops of eucalyptus menthol essential oil

- 8 drops of thyme essential oil

- 50 ml canister, for example this aluminum or heart-shaped one , which can hold even more balm

How to do it?

Using a pot of water and a heat-resistant bowl, we prepare a water bath in which we dissolve almond butter and shea butter and add green clay.

While the butters are melting, mix jojoba oil with vitamin E and essential oils in another cold bowl.

This time we will also prepare an ice bath by throwing a few ice cubes into a pot with a few centimeters of water. When the butter and oil are melted, we move the bowl into this ice bath and stir the mixture for a minute at a time, not forgetting to wipe the congealing mixture around the sides of the bowl. A silicone spatula works very well for this.

After about a minute of mixing, pour the rest of the prepared ingredients into our oil mixture and continue mixing until the mixture is stiff enough. We can tell by the fact that when we lift the spatula and part of the butter drips onto the surface of the mixture, it leaves a kind of visible path on it for a while - it's similar to when we make pudding and pour it into a bowl.

Then we can pour the mixture into a cup with a volume of at least 60 ml. Let the balm rest for at least an hour. If you feel that the butter in the cup is "melting" due to the summer heat, put it in the fridge, at least it will be cooler when you apply it!

When and how to lubricate?

When your feet feel sore and tired, it is enough to take a little cooling balm and massage your feet and calves with it. The ideal situation is to arrange for someone to lend a helping hand and provide lubrication and a pleasant foot massage :) Your feet will then be doubly happy!
