Description

What do we put in it?

The softer coconut oil perfectly complements the fragile, chocolate-scented cocoa butter. This combination creates a silky and smooth butter mixture. Cocoa butter is amazing, but its hard consistency – imagine a bar of dark chocolate now – makes it somewhat difficult to use in high concentrations to make whipped body butters. If the ratio is chosen incorrectly, such body products with cocoa butter can also be "brittle", i.e. hard, and even crumbly in the finale despite the initial good whipping.

But you don't have to worry about that here! That is why we add coconut fat to the cocoa butter, which is soft in the heat. We expect that you will use this butter more in summer or spring. In the winter, this body butter can be stiffer, but just warm it in your hands and it softens beautifully.

In the summer, the skin will appreciate the added apricot oil, obtained from apricot kernels, which is a light and quickly absorbed oil rich in vitamins A, C and E and essential fatty acids. This oil is ideal for moisturizing and regenerating the skin, improving its elasticity and soothing irritation. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, it is suitable for sensitive skin, eczema and acne. In summer, it is especially suitable for the skin, as it helps to restore the skin after sunbathing, keeping it hydrated and protected. In addition to the butter and oils, we add coco silicone to the mixture, which is a natural substitute for classic silicone, which makes the skin even more silky and lightens the entire product.

A very pleasant powdery finish and easy rubbing of the butter into the skin is ensured by cetyl alcohol, which additionally thickens the product excellently and ensures its stabilization. Not only to reduce the greasy feeling, we add French pink clay rich in minerals and trace elements that help to revitalize and detoxify the skin. Thanks to its softness, pink clay is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and dry. Soothes irritation and gives a healthy, radiant appearance.

We will then support the skin's radiance by mixing in a beautifully peachy mica powder, which beautifully tones the skin and gives it a noticeable, yet elegant sparkle and freshness.

Well, what other scent to choose for apricot whipped butter than apricot, right? Apricot essential oil is one of your favourites. And we are not surprised at all! The sweet, rich scent is absolutely delicious, dare we say sensual, and it also promotes relaxation and has calming properties. Be sure to treat yourself to it!

Now to the mixing.

What does it take?

For 25 grams of butter, which fits neatly into 30ml containers

We are warming up

- 7.5 grams of coconut fat

- 7.5 grams of apricot oil

- 4.75 grams of cocoa butter

- 2 grams of coco silicone

- 0.1 gram of Just Peachy mica powder

- 1.25 grams of cetyl alcohol

- 1.7 grams of pink clay

Add after cooling

- 0.1 gram of vitamin E

- 0.1 gram of apricot fragrance

How to do it?

Prepare a water bath. Pour about 3 cm of water into a small pot. Heat the water on low to medium-low to just barely boiling.
Weigh out all the ingredients for the heating phase into a small heatproof bowl that is deep and large enough to whisk. Place the bowl in the water bath and let everything dissolve. Once the mixture is completely liquid, remove the bowl from the heat.

Now it's time to cool our butter! Therefore, slide the bowl with the mixture into the freezer for ten minutes. The body butter should not be rock hard, but it should be firm around the edges with a little soft in the middle. Once you've reached this consistency, it's time to start whipping.

Start your beater or hand mixer and beat for about one minute, then use a spatula to scrape the mixture down the sides of the bowl and beat for another two minutes. Continue whisking and scraping the mixture down the sides of the bowl until the body butter is light (both in consistency and color). You can tell the right consistency by the fact that the butter will create soft and fluffy "folds".

When that happens, let the body butter sit for 20 minutes, whip it again, and then let it cool completely to room temperature overnight.

The next day, try mixing the butter and make sure you're happy with the consistency, that it hasn't melted or otherwise gone bad. If you're happy, it's time to add the fragrance and vitamin E.

Tip: Use an accurate scale to weigh these ingredients, ideally one with an accuracy of 0.01g. It is ideal to mix such a small amount by taking a little whipped butter and vitamin E in a small bowl and weighing the fragrance up to this amount. Then mix the mixture well and transfer it to a bowl with the rest (or most) of the body butter.

Then beat everything together once more.

Try to move the finished body butter into the selected container gently without pressing it too much. A 30ml container will be great for the dose we are giving. For example, this elegant glass one with a black lid or a beautiful brown glass jar.

And it is done!

Then just massage the body butter into the skin, which needs a little pampering and radiance.

If possible, store the butter at a temperature similar to that at which it was made - it melts easily when exposed to high temperatures and won't have that lovely whipped consistency when resolidified. But it will still be very pleasant on the skin.

Happy oiling and crafting!
