Description
n-Dodecane, dihexyl, bihexyl
Characteristics
- Liquid hydrocarbon, formula C12H26
Use
- It is used as a substitute for mineral oils and synthetic silicones. If you want to make a cream that is as oily as possible, dodecan is just for you.
- Dodecane is added to the oil phase at the beginning of production. It is very stable and can be slightly heated (beware, flash point 71 °C) or used cold (to obtain dry oils).
- This extra dry, volatile structuring agent can be used to create volatile creams and milks. In combination with vegetable oils and other emollients, it is ideal for the formulation of dry oils. It is an ideal replacement for volatile mineral oils and synthetic silicones.
It is the driest and most volatile emollient in our range.
